Magnetic separation by Overband

When your material handling installation needs to sort out ferro magnetics from the transported material, we offer you a fixed magnet located inside a frame with a rotating discharge belt running around it.

This equipment called « an overband magnet», or permanent magnet, is placed over a belt conveyor. It picks up ferrous particles out of the transport line. As a result of magnetic attraction, the ferrous particles are attracted and separated from bulk products. When this magnetic attraction stops,  the magnetic particles drop into a container of your choice (hopper or grab) or on another conveyor belt whereas the rest of the conveyed material continue its way on the original conveyor belt.

To magnetically separate ferrous parts from contaminated dirt, you can use an overband magnet. The overband screening can also be used in a setup for UXO clearance.
